Valley Children’s Hospital provides diagnostic services, medical treatment, and follow-up care to infants, children, and adolescents with neurological disorders. The neurology team includes board‑certified neurologists and epileptologists who manage seizures, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, and other neurologic conditions.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner functions as an advanced practice practitioner, acting as a consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator, and researcher within a specialized area of practice. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care within the scope of licensure, guiding care through the medical model, and serving on call as needed per hospital schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assessment in a pediatric neurology setting.
• Consult and educate patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate care and serve as patient advocate.
• Participate in research related to pediatric neurology.
• Operate within the medical model and adhere to hospital policies.
• Be available on call per predetermined schedule.

Qualifications (Nurse Practitioner)

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Master’s preferred).
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Nurse Practitioner license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• National Board Certified in NP (NCC®) within six months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year related experience; 5 years preferred.
• Proficient in physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of pediatric acute and chronic problems.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Qualifications (Physician Assistant)

• Associate’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred).
• Graduate of a Physician Assistant program.
• Physician Assistant license issued by the Medical Board of California.
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year related experience; specialty experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Compensation & Work Schedule

Pay range: $71.40 – $113.75 per hour.

Shift: Day; Full‑time, 40 hours per week.

Position is Exempt.
