Job summary

Prisma Health in South Carolina seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary health care within established protocols for a specific patient population. You will follow nursing standards, procedures, and practices while collaborating with the care team in an OB/GYN setting.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating conditions, documenting care for billing, and participating in budgets and revenue-improvement initiatives. This non-management role reports to a supervisor or director.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner certification or certificate equivalent.
• SC nursing licensure with prescriptive authority; NLNP recognition.
• SC DEA license and controlled substances authority.

Responsibilities

• Engages in diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries and prescribes treatments.
• Performs charting, summaries and paperwork for documenting care and billing.
• Participates in physician educational programs related to capitated medicine.
• Involves in responding to RFPs for managed care contracts.
• Assists in development of operational and capital budgets.
• Engages in operational assessments for revenue enhancement and cost reductions.
• Contributes to activities to improve the public image of the Employer.

Job Summary

Provides primary health care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. Follows established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.

Accountabilities

• Engages in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental or functional ailments or defects.

• Performs all charting, summaries, correspondence and assorted paperwork that is required for purposes of documenting care and billing.

• Participates in physician educational programs provided by Employer relative to capitated medicine and its implications on physician practice patterns.

• Participates in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.

• Participates in:

• Assists in the development of operational and capital budgets.

• Participates in operational assessments in search of revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies and billing opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

Master’s Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
