Job summary

Cedars-Sinai seeks a Nurse Practitioner to care for critically ill patients in the 24-bed Surgical, Trauma and Transplant ICU. You will implement care plans, supervise clinical practice, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Master of Nursing, CA NP licensure, NPI, DEA, and ACLS; experience in ICU settings with trauma or transplant cases is highly desirable. This full-time role is on-site in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Master of Nursing Degree and CA NP licensure requirements.
• Minimum 2 years ICU NP experience, preferably surgical/trauma/transplant.
• Licensure with Nurse Practitioner, Furnishing, CA RN, NPI and DEA (schedules 2-5) incl. ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Apply care plans and supervise clinical practice in ICU.
• Collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals for patient care.
• Report to Medical Director, Lead NP and CNO; act as integral part of medical team.
• Provide culturally competent care across age groups; adhere to standards and policies.
• Perform duties with safety and development-appropriate considerations.

Care for critically ill patients in our 24-bed Surgical, Trauma and Transplant ICU.

• Responsible and accountable for the application of the care plan, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the healthcare continuum including preventative care, acute care through discharge, and ambulatory care environments.
• Collaborates with diverse healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care using independent decision‑making skills.
• Reports to the Medical Director, the Lead Nurse Practitioner, and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and functions as an integral part of the medical team.
• Supplies personalized care that aligns with CSHS philosophies, encompassing care consistent with Standards of Care/Practice, the Nursing Care Provision Plan, the Patient Care Provision Plan, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, the Standards of Professional Organizations, Code of Conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides care to special patient populations and those with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to age and developmental achievements of the population(s) served, which may include adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Recognizes safety issues, implements safety measures, and assesses patients with developmental achievements in mind.

Qualifications

Education:

• Master of Nursing Degree.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.

Experience:

• Minimum of two years of Nurse Practitioner (NP) experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), preferably in a surgical, trauma, or transplant setting preferred.
• Experience with critically ill trauma and solid organ transplant patients is highly desirable.

Licensure/Certifications Requirements:

• Current CA RN License.
• Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
• NPI
• Current DEA License (schedule 2-5)
• Current ACLS required.
