Job summary

Sidney Regional Medical Center in Sidney, Nebraska seeks a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join its Pulmonology Specialty Clinic. This full-time role covers inpatient and outpatient care, including assessments, diagnostics, and management of complex pulmonary conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health assessments and physical exams for patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pulmonary conditions such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, sleep apnea, and lung infections.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests including chest X-rays, CT scans, pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Prescribe medications and non-pharmacological treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and symptom management.
  • Monitor treatment efficacy and adjust plans as necessary for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and clinical research (if applicable).
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.

This position will work collaboratively with a team of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program with a Master’s or Doctorate degree.
  • Prefer 1-2 years of experience in pulmonology, internal medicine, or a related specialty.
  • License as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
