Position Overview:

New York & New Jersey Eye Institute is seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing ophthalmology team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care, perform clinical assessments, assist physicians with ophthalmic procedures, and help manage patients throughout the continuum of care. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
• Evaluate patients presenting with ocular conditions, vision-related concerns, and ophthalmic diseases.
• Assist in diagnosing and managing common eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other ophthalmic disorders.
• Perform vision assessments, intraocular pressure testing, pupil dilation, and other ophthalmic evaluations.
• Perform pre-operative evaluations, vital sign monitoring, and patient education.
• Monitor post-operative patients, assess recovery progress, and coordinate safe discharge planning.
• Manage acute and chronic patient conditions while ensuring timely follow-up care.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure instructions.
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with practice policies, clinical guidelines, and HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient care and office operations.

Qualifications:

• Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the State of New Jersey.
• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Previous experience in Ophthalmology preferred.
• Strong knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation:

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and interview evaluation.
