Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage the healthcare needs of incarcerated individuals within a multidisciplinary team in Wisconsin. The role focuses on evidence-based medical care, chronic disease management, and coordinating treatment plans in a correctional setting.

The NP will work on-site with a collaborative healthcare team, providing preventive care, education, and timely documentation while complying with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Wisconsin (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum one 1-2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic medical conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic testing.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and clinical protocols.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor and manage chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, and other ongoing conditions.
• Provide preventive healthcare, wellness counseling, and patient education.
• Respond to urgent medical situations and collaborate with onsite healthcare staff to ensure appropriate patient care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, mental health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
