Job summary

Matrix Providers is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to perform one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role is full-time with hours Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, and offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life coverage along with PTO, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan.

The NP must hold an active NP license, BLS certification, and be able to work independently and in a team. On-site staff must be fully vaccinated.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted NP license required.
• Active BLS certification.

• Good interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• All on-site staff must be fully vaccinated per guidelines.
• Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical history and provide one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams.
• Capture responses during the exam via web-based forms; documentation completed electronically.
• Exams are forwarded to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determinations.
• Standard exams include musculoskeletal, cardio, and respiratory.
• Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and conducted on location or nearby.

• Employment Status: Full Time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly $54.00-58.59/hr
• Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Requirements and Skillsets:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP must have and meet the following qualifications:

• Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license for the duration of your employment.
• Certification: Have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
