Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for Neurosurgery/Neuro Interventional Radiology at the Plano facility. The provider will perform history and physical exams, manage follow-up care, and coordinate with supervising physicians to deliver high-quality neuro care.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in nursing, be NP certified, and have neuro experience; acute care certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program with Master’s degree.
• 1 year of NP experience preferred.
• Acute Care certification preferred.
• 1 year of Neuro experience preferred.
• NP – Nurse Practitioner credential required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations for new, established, and follow-up patients; consult with supervising physician as needed.
• Provide follow-up and preventive care per established protocols or physician instructions.
• Initiate appropriate treatment and testing for evaluation of illness.
• Counsel patients on health-related issues and treatment plans.
• Document clinical care following guidelines and policies.

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas, 75096

Work Hours: PRN, 6:00am – 4:00pm

Here’s What You Need

• Master’s Degree Graduate of Nurse Practitioner program required
• 1 year of experience as Nurse Practitioner preferred
• Acute Care certification highly preferred
• 1 year experience in Neuro preferred
• NP – Nurse Practitioner upon hire required

Here’s What You Will Do

• Perform history and physical exams on new and established patients and those being seen for follow up appointments. Consult with the supervising physician as needed
• Provide follow up and health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols or specific instructions from the supervising physician
• Initiate appropriate treatment and testing required for evaluation of illness based on training and experience
• Provide counseling and instruction to patients regarding health related issues
• Document clinical care of the patient according to established guidelines
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by training and experience and as directed by the supervising physician
• Communicate with patients and family members within state law confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines concerning health related questions
• Participate in continuous quality improvement process and other initiatives in the area of employees practice
