Job summary

Washington Regional is seeking a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider to join the JB Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute in Northwest Arkansas. The position is outpatient clinic only and involves patient exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and education.

The role requires graduation from an accredited NP program, an unencumbered NP license with CPR and national certification, plus a minimum of 3 years in clinical nursing; vascular neurology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
• Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
• Prescribe and dispense medications
• Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records
• Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics
• Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program,
• Licensure and Certifications: UnencumberedNurse Practitioner license andCPR, required. National certification, required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous clinical nursing role, required. Previous experience in Vascular Neurology preferred.

Work Environment

This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
