Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System seeks a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider for our JB Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute in Northwest Arkansas. This outpatient clinic role focuses on assessment, diagnosis, and management of neurology patients in a fast-paced setting.

Requires graduate NP, unencumbered NP license with CPR and national certification; minimum 3 years’ clinical nursing experience, with vascular neurology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Licensure and Certifications: Unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license and CPR, required. National certification, required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a previous clinical nursing role, required. Previous experience in Vascular Neurology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests.
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary.
• Prescribe and dispense medications.
• Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records.
• Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage healthy behaviors.
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics.
• Maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends and support research projects.

Work Environment

This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
