• Critical care consultation as requested by medical staff.

• Availability for subspecialty consults as needed.

Nocturnist Critical Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Elliot Health System (EHS) seeks an experienced Clinical Care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide in‑house overnight critical care support on its 16‑bed Intensive Care Unit and 12‑bed intermediate care unit. The role is part of a triad with two advanced practice providers and one board‑certified Intensivist, working 5:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. throughout the week.

Responsibilities:

• Admissions and nightly care for patients admitted to the intensive care unit and other service patients as directed by the team leader.
• Ventilator and airway management of patients with respiratory failure.
• Placement of invasive monitoring devices when appropriate.
• Pressor and resuscitation management.
• Co‑management of perioperative and postoperative patients upon request.
• Critical care consultation as requested by medical staff.
• Assistance with the hospital’s Critical Assessment Team and Code Blue response.
• Availability for subspecialty consults as needed.
