Job summary

Turnwell Mental Health in Astoria, OR is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our inpatient behavioral health team. You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and manage medications for adults and adolescents in a collaborative setting.

This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, HIPAA compliance, and ongoing education, with telehealth options to serve rural communities and support underserved populations in the region.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification from ANCC or equivalent.
• Active Oregon APRN license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience with outpatient psychiatric care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment planning.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Provide ongoing medication management and monitor patient response and side effects.
• Collaborate with therapists, social workers, primary care providers, and other team members to deliver coordinated care.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Participate in care coordination meetings, peer consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide telehealth services as needed to serve rural and remote patients.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education, staying current with evidence-based psychiatric practices.
• Adhere to all clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards.

• Experience treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders
• Familiarity with collaborative care models or integrated behavioral health
• Spanish language proficiency (a plus given the regional population)
• Experience with telehealth platforms
