Job summary

Turnwell Mental Health is hiring a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a growing inpatient behavioral health team in Astoria, Oregon. You will perform evaluations, manage medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to adults and adolescents.

The role requires an PMHNP-BC certification, an active Oregon APRN license (or eligibility), and experience with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification from ANCC or equivalent.
• Active Oregon APRN license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment planning.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Provide ongoing medication management and monitor patient response and side effects.
• Collaborate with therapists, social workers, primary care providers, and other team members to deliver coordinated care.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Participate in care coordination meetings, peer consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide telehealth services as needed to serve rural and remote patients.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education, staying current with evidence-based psychiatric practices.
• Adhere to all clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards.

QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
• Current PMHNP-BC certification from ANCC or equivalent
• Active Oregon APRN license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Experience with outpatient psychiatric care
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of PMHNP experience in an outpatient or community mental health setting
• Experience treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders
• Familiarity with collaborative care models or integrated behavioral health
• Spanish language proficiency (a plus given the regional population)
• Experience with telehealth platforms
