Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner to assess patients in the designated service, performing exams, history taking, and patient communication. The NP collaborates with the department to ensure efficient care and reports to the Chief of the service and Department Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • Two years (within the past three years) experience as a NP providing specialized care in an emergency department or urgent care setting.
  • Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing and relevant NP certification for California.
  • California NP furnishing and RN licenses, plus required emergency/critical care certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assesss designated patients with physical exams and health history.
  • Coordinate with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Consult with supervising physician and other clinicians as needed.
  • Document findings and maintain quality indicators for patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing staff development, safety, and risk management.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
