Job summary

UCF Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our clinical team and deliver comprehensive patient care under physician oversight. You will build relationships with patients, perform examinations, manage diseases, order routine tests, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree and 5–8 years of clinical experience, with Florida APRN licensure and CPR/BLS.

What You'll Do

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical care under the direction and collaboration of our physicians. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviews patient care plans, charts, and records.
• Assesses patients during routine office visits. Diagnoses common illnesses and recommends care procedures, treatments, medications, and drug therapy as appropriate.
• Orders routine diagnostic tests and assists patients in arranging appointments. Discusses and explains procedures.
• Conducts physical examinations and assesses and records the general health of patients.
• Recommends preventive practices, dietary requirements, and healthy living guidelines to patients.
• Prescribes routine drug therapy in accordance with established protocol. Thoroughly explains drug benefits, side effects, and potential reactions.
• Refers more complex cases to supervising Physician for consultation. Directs patients to Physician Specialists, as necessary.
• Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Communicating significant patient-care concerns or operational issues to appropriate leadership.
• Participating in meetings, committees, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives as requested.

• Understanding of clinic policies, safety precautions, infection control and established medical procedures.

Education & Experience

• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• 5 to 8 years of similar or related clinical experience preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current and unrestricted Florida APRN license, as applicable to the position.
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required.
• Completion of required OSHA, HIPAA, safety, and other organizational training.
• Additional certifications as required for the position.
