P2 Medical Staffing seeks a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide onsite medical coverage at a residential recovery facility in Houma, LA. The role supports individuals with substance use disorders, including those with chronic medical conditions.

Schedule is M-F 8am–4pm; part-time positions are also available. Responsibilities include admissions, evaluations, and ongoing medical management, with collaboration across nursing, counseling, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Valid medical license in the relevant NP/PA role (PMHNP, FNP, PA-C).
• DEA registration is required for prescribing controlled substances.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making.
• Clear, professional written and oral communication.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate with a care team.
• No detox or residential experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite medical assessment and treatment at a residential recovery facility.
• Conduct admission evaluations, histories and physicals, and follow-up visits.
• Manage withdrawal symptoms and chronic medical conditions.
• Deliver evidence-based medication treatment within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care and make appropriate transfer decisions as needed.
• Review labs, medications, and nursing notes; ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with nursing, counseling, psychiatry, and administration.
• Contribute to care coordination and treatment planning; document on time.
• Follow detox protocols and established order sets.

P2 Medical Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dependable Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to provide onsite medical coverage at a new residential recovery facility in Houma, LA. The position supports individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders, including those with chronic medical comorbidities.

Schedule: M-F 8am-4pm (Part-time positions also available)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide onsite medical assessment and treatment for patients receiving residential substance use disorder care

• Complete admission evaluations, histories and physicals, follow-up visits, and discharge-related medical services

• Evaluate and manage withdrawal symptoms, chronic medical conditions, acute illnesses, and other routine medical needs

• Provide evidence-based medication treatment for substance use disorders within the provider's training and scope of practice

• Identify medical or psychiatric concerns regarding a higher level of care and coordinate appropriate evaluation or transfer

• Review laboratory results, medications, nursing concerns, and relevant clinical documentation

• Work closely with nursing, counseling, psychiatric, administrative, and facility leadership

• Participate in care coordination and treatment planning when needed

• Complete documentation accurately and within established timeframes

• Follow established clinical and detox protocols, order sets, documentation templates, and quality expectations

• Provide informed, respectful, and nonjudgmental care to every patient
