  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous acute care clinical nursing role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
  • Order and perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
  • Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment and adjust as needed.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications and educate patients and families.
  • Document medical information in electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate with physicians and clinics and consult as needed.

This position practices in collaboration with our Hospitalist team of Physicians and APPs to provide care for hospitalized patients in the Inpatient setting.Essential Position ResponsibilitiesPerform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnessesOrder and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory testsDetermine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessaryPrescribe and dispense medicationsDocument medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical recordsEducate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviorsRequest consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinicsActively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projectsQualificationsEducation: Must be a graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.Licensure and Certifications: Nurse Practitioner License and CPR, required. National certification, required.Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous acute care clinical nursing role, required.Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
