Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System in Northwest Arkansas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to collaborate with our Hospitalist team and provide inpatient care. You will assess patients, order tests, plan treatments, and educate families to promote health and prevention.

This role emphasizes evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualified candidates will have an accredited NP program graduate status, NP license with CPR, and national certification, plus at least three years

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Must possess an active Nurse Practitioner license and CPR certification.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a prior acute care clinical nursing role.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests.
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary.
• Prescribe and dispense medications.
• Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records.
• Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on health problems, treatment plans, home care, and preventative health care.
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics.
• Maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends and support research projects.
