Job summary

Damien Center in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care in our outpatient clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering HIV care, preventive services, and gender-affirming care as needed.

The NP will diagnose and treat illnesses, develop care plans, order labs, prescribe medications, and coordinate with physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and behavioral health specialists. Experience with LGBTQ+ patients and PrEP/ART is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current national board certification as a nurse practitioner.
• Current Indiana RN license and prescribing authority.
• Minimum two years of primary care experience.
• Experience with HIV care and LGBTQ+ patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• conducts comprehensive patient evaluations, including health histories and physical exams.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions within NP scope.
• Develops individualized care plans with patients and care team.
• Orders, performs, and interprets labs and diagnostic studies.
• Prescribes medications and coordinates referrals as needed.
• Educates patients about diagnoses, treatments, and preventive care.
