Job summary

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) in Georgia seeks a Nurse Practitioner specialized in Hem/Onc to provide independent, direct care to oncology and hematology patients in Duluth and Jonesboro. You’ll assess, diagnose, and implement treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates have a Master’s in Nursing, NP certification, and GA licensure or eligibility; 4–6 years in NP oncology are preferred, with strong chemo skills and bone marrow

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing and NP licensure required.
  • Graduates from an accredited NP program with NP-C or equivalent.
  • Current DEA/ACLS and Georgia licensure or eligibility.
  • 4–6 years NP oncology experience preferred; chemotherapy knowledge valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent, direct, specialized care to oncology/hematology patients.
  • Perform exams, manage symptoms, and follow survivors.
  • Assist with inbox coverage and chemotherapy infusion coverage.
  • Collaborate with physicians and IDT to manage patient care.

Job Brief:

Nurse Practitioner, Hem/Onc

The hem/onc nurse practitioner will provide independent, direct, and specialized care to patients with oncologic and hematologic disorders. Performs physical examinations, focuses on symptom management for patients while undergoing therapy and provides ongoing follow-up for survivors. Assists with inbox and infusion coverage and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members.

What You Can Expect:

  • Assist with inbox coverage
  • Provides new patient and follow up care for oncology and hematology patients in acute and ambulatory patient settings. Assess and diagnose patients, formulate, and implement treatment plans, address complex medical conditions.
  • Collaborates with physician(s) and other interdisciplinary team (IDT) members to manage medical needs of patients by performing exam and providing follow-up care.
  • Evaluates medical conditions and issues appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic orders.
  • Develop and participate in patient survivorship programs.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Graduate from a registered NP program
  • Certification as NP-C, PA-C, CNM, etc.
  • Current DEAACLS
  • Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the State of Georgia
  • One full-time year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
  • 4 to 6 years of NP Oncology experience, preferred
  • Excellent procedure skills, especially with bone marrow biopsy and aspiration, preferred
  • Thorough and working knowledge of chemotherapy, preferred
