Job summary

A leading healthcare recruitment agency is seeking an AGACNP for a Critical Care position in Houston, Texas. Candidates must possess a Texas nursing license and have 2-3 years of experience in RN or NP roles, particularly in Cardiology. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient care, assessment, and treatment in compliance with nursing standards. Ideal candidates will have certifications in BLS and ACLS along with experience managing heart failure populations. Strongly preferred skills include Critical Care and Cardiovascular Nursing.

Qualifications

• AGACNP certification is required.
• Must have experience with heart failure population.
• Current State of Texas license to practice nursing is mandatory.
• Two years clinical nursing experience in Cardiology / Cardiac Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Manage and follow up with patients during hospitalization.
• Work in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Health System Standards.

Requirements

• AGACNP required
• 2-3 years of RN or NP Critical Care experience required, Cardiology experience strongly preferred
• New NPs MUST have 2-3 years of RN experience with Critical Care ICU, Cardiac Care, fresh transplants & / or CV Recovery including working w / LVADs & ECMO
• Experience w / heart failure population
• Patient populations include VV / VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Heart Transplant, Lung Transplant, LVAD, Post-op Cardiac Surgery
• 8% geographical differential for the medical center
• 2-3 month credentialing process

Position responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and in‑hospital follow‑up, affecting direct patient care through the disease process according to the Texas Nurse Practice Act and our Health System Standards of Care.

Required Citizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status

Must be a US citizen

Must‑Haves

• Must have experience as a AGACNP - Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
• Certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or National Certification Center in area of specialty or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Two (2) years clinical nursing experience (RN or NP) in area of Cardiology / Cardiac Care / Cardiovascular Nursing
