Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specialized in Gastroenterology to join the GI service. The APP provides general and specialty care with opportunities for collaborative and independent practice within their scope, delivering inpatient rounds, consultations and coordinated care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current Florida APRN licensure, Acute Care board certification, and GI experience; new graduates may be considered for the APP

Competenze

• Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.
• Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care board certification required for APRNs.
• Experience in internal/hospital medicine & gastrointestinal diseases strongly preferred.
• Extremely motivated new graduates may be considered for an APP fellowship program to support transition to practice.

JOB SUMMARY—Gastroenterology Service

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will have an opportunity for both collaborative and independent practice while practicing within their established scope. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES—Gastroenterology Service

• Daily inpatient rounding & associated documentation
• Consultations & evaluation of patients with GI disorders
• Communicate with primary & multidisciplinary team to collaborate on the management of complex patients with GI disorders

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
