Tampa General Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team at our Level 1 trauma center in Tampa, FL. The APP will collaborate with residents and attendings and may work autonomously within an attending-led model.
Responsibilities include 24/7 coverage of medical-surgical and ICU patients, trauma consults, wound care, and assisting in OR when needed. Florida APRN/PA licensure plus related trauma certifications are required.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide specialty care to patients on both the Trauma and Emergency General Surgery services at the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the area. The APP will work closely with residents, fellows and attendings to provide the safest, most innovative and high-quality care. They will have the opportunity to work autonomously as part of an attending-led team. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.
Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Flexibility to adapt to new roles as the Acute Care Surgery team expands.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Should demonstrate the ability to work within a team of >15 APPs, 14 attending physicians and numerous residents as they rotate through the Acute Care Surgery service.
Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
