Locums in Potsdam, NY is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with Gastroenterology focus to work in an acute care hospital setting. You will evaluate and manage patients within the GI/IM practice and provide comprehensive care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

The role involves documenting in Epic, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and prescribing/monitoring medications. Clinic shifts are Monday–Friday, 8a–4p, with no on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients within the Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine practice setting.
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and follow-up.
• Educate patients and families regarding preventive care, medical conditions, prescribed treatments, and medications.
• Document medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in Epic.
• Refer complex and high-priority cases to collaborating physicians when indicated.
• Provide appropriate medical and emergency interventions based on patient needs.
• Prescribe and monitor medications relevant to patient diagnoses.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Work scheduled Monday–Friday clinic shifts with no call responsibility.
