Locums is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for Gastroenterology coverage in Potsdam, NY. The assignment is a locum tenens with a Monday–Friday 8a–4p schedule in an acute care hospital setting.

Typical patient mix includes adults acutely ill in gastroenterology/internal medicine, with Epic as the EMR. There is support from one NP, one LPN, and anesthesia for procedures, and no on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients within the Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine practice setting.
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and follow-up.
• Educate patients and families regarding preventive care, medical conditions, prescribed treatments, and medications.
• Document medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in Epic.
• Refer complex and high-priority cases to collaborating physicians when indicated.
• Provide appropriate medical and emergency interventions based on patient needs.
• Prescribe and monitor medications relevant to patient diagnoses.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Work scheduled Monday–Friday clinic shifts with no call responsibility.
