Job summary

Trigg County Hospital Inc. seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive cardiology care, including history taking, exams, ordering tests, and managing treatment plans. You will collaborate with physicians, educate patients, and coordinate referrals, while promoting prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited NP program, current Kentucky NP license, and is certified in BLS/ACLS/PALS with at least one year of cardiology experience preferred.

Job description

Patient Care -Obtain a relevant and complete health and medical history and performs appropriate physical examination.Perform or order appropriate preventive and/or diagnostic tests or procedures based on the patient’s age and history.Ability to identify and discuss pathophysiology of disease processesFormulate appropriate diagnosis based on the history, physical examination and diagnostic test resultsOrder diagnostic tests. Review results and report to patient.Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, according to privileges.Manage general medical conditions to include understanding the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities.Identify, respect, and show compassion regarding patients’ differences, values, preferences and expressed needs during interaction.Plan and provide care, within the framework of policies, procedures, privileges and available resources.
