Description

The Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider/Nurse Practitioner to join their team of 12 physicians and 11 nurse practitioners. The APP will work closely with specialized Hematology/Oncology physicians caring for adult patients in an ambulatory setting, both independently and with Medical Oncologists. The position is based in West Chester, with 1-2 days per week at satellite locations in Exton and Kennett Square. Ideal candidates will have excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills, with previous experience managing hematology/oncology patients. EPIC experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide follow-up and urgent care for patients.
  2. Interpret and integrate data to determine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  3. Perform physical exams and collaborate with physicians on medical needs.
  4. Order labs and diagnostics, develop differential diagnoses, and formulate treatment plans.
  5. Prescribe medications according to regulations and collaborative agreements.
  6. Maintain systematic follow-up processes.
  7. Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and health prevention.
  8. Recommends community resources to meet patient needs.
  9. Ensure continuity of care and maintain patient records.
  10. Triages calls and provides consultations.
  11. Maintain patient confidentiality.
  12. Supervise clinical staff functions and activities.
  13. Collaborate with practice administration and lead RN on staff issues.
  14. Assist in staff hiring, development, and management.
  15. Review operational policies and participate in meetings and committees.
  16. Serve as a resource and preceptor for students and healthcare team members.
  17. Evaluate clinical performance and pursue continuing education.
  18. Participate in departmental projects and demonstrate clinical competence across age groups and disabilities.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner PA (Required)

  • Registered Nurse - PA (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience
