Job summary

Quality Correctional Care is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to lead a medical team inside the St. Joseph County Jail in South Bend, IN. The role focuses on providing high‑quality medical care to inmates and coordinating care across departments.

You will oversee patient treatment plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with law enforcement and community transition services. Indiana licensure is required with Michigan license as a bonus; prior correctional experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Indiana license required; Michigan license considered bonus.
• Graduate of an accredited NP program.
• Passes a cleared background check.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Role Summary

This Family Nurse Practitioner will lead a team of medical staff and provide treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The role is critical to advancing Quality Correctional Care’s services across the northern region of Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage medical staff; deliver patient care; coordinate with law enforcement and community transition services; maintain treatment plans; ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Licensed Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of hire (Indiana license required; Michigan license considered bonus).
• Graduate of an accredited NP program.
• Passes a cleared background check.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

• Prior correctional facility experience.
• Background in family practice, urgent care, or ER medicine.

Location & Hours

St. Joseph County Jail, South Bend, IN. Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with some flexibility required.
