Job summary

El Centro Regional Medical Center in California seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary healthcare in collaboration with physicians within the Emergency Department. The NP will manage cases per protocols, prepare histories and treatment plans, and order diagnostics under supervision.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited NP program with California NP Furnisher Number and DEA registration; bilingual skills are preferred and emergency medicine experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• DEA Registration (Drug Enforcement Administration, Office of Diversion Control).
• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner training program.
• Two years of emergency medicine experience preferred: urgent care experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary healthcare in collaboration with physicians under supervision of ED/Outpatient medical directors.
• Manages selected cases according to established protocols and prepares treatment plans.
• Orders x-rays, other diagnostic procedures and writes prescriptions per protocols.
• Conducts health assessments with diagnostic tools and laboratory tests and educates patients.

Writes prescriptions according to protocols. Refers acute and chronic care patients. Conducts health assessments utilizing diagnostic tools and laboratory tests. Provides patient education counseling. Performs other duties as requested by physicians or clinic director

Position Pay Range: $75.00 - $95.00 per hour
