Job summary

Midwest Express Clinic is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to join a growing network of urgent and primary care clinics. The NP will provide evidence‑based care across ages, partner with Medical Assistants, Radiologic Technologists, and clinic leadership to deliver efficient, high‑quality care in alignment with MEC standards for service, safety, and operations.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois and/or Indiana.
• Ability to treat patients across the lifespan.
• Strong clinical decision‑making and procedural skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing including lab and radiology results.
• Perform procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, splinting, nail procedures, injections, DOT physicals, occupational medicine services.
• Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR.

The Role

The Family Nurse Practitioner serves as a key clinical leader within the clinic, providing evidence-based care services while fostering an exceptional patient experience. This role partners closely with Medical Assistants, Radiologic Technologists, leadership, and physicians to deliver efficient, high-quality care that aligns with MEC's standards for service, safety, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois and/or Indiana
• Ability to treat patients across the lifespan
• Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

• Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Occupational Medicine experience
• Experience performing common urgent care procedures
• DOT Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Flexibility to support multiple clinic locations

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is$125,000-130,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
