Job summary

Southcentral Foundation (SCF) seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide direct clinical care to customer-owners within SCF's service area in Alaska. The role requires Alaska NP licensure, BLS, and national certification, with detox experience and buprenorphine waiver preferred.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team in a culturally informed environment serving Alaska Native communities, delivering holistic wellness services and collaborating to meet the health needs of the community.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska.
• Current certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Waivered to prescribe buprenorphine for detox.
• One year of experience in withdrawal management or behavioral health services.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required.

• Maintain required privileges of service and participate in health screenings and immunizations as needed.

Job description

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Nurse Practitioner Specialty is responsible for providing direct clinical customer care customer-owner in assigned area.

Qualifications

SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska.
• Current certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Meets all requirements in order to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.

Detox: One (1) year of experience in withdrawal management or behavioral health services; AND waivered to prescribe buprenorphine. AND obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) specialty designation within six (6) months of hire.

Native Preference

Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.

Following SCF's Employee Health Procedure, including all required job-related health screenings and immunizations, is a condition of employment. The procedure is based on the latest scientific evidence and recommendations from public health experts.

New employees must complete all required health screenings and immunizations before their first day of work. Current employees must complete any additional screenings or immunizations that become necessary due to workplace conditions, public health concerns, or newly available vaccines that help protect coworkers and the community.
