Job summary

The South Bend Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Dermatology team at the Mishawaka Day Road Plaza Clinic. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of Dermatology experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities include performing skin examinations, ordering tests, collaborating with supervising physicians, and prescribing medications within scope. Indiana licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive multitasking and time management while ensuring high-level patient care.
• Detail-oriented with maintaining patient information and documenting progress.
• Exceptional patient interaction with a friendly, approachable demeanor and strong customer service.
• Master's degree from an accredited PA or NP program; ANCC certification.
• Current state licensure as Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse and RN in Indiana.
• CPR (BLS) certification current.
• Active mid-level Practitioner Controlled Substance License and DEA License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive skin examinations, diagnose and interpret diagnostic testing, develop care plans.
• Order diagnostic testing, skin biopsies, laboratory, x-ray, and other non-invasive tests and procedures.
• Initiate collaboration with supervising physicians and referrals to appropriate specialists.
• Maintain communication with referring physicians while providing exceptional patient care.
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice with physician oversight and necessary licenses.
• Counsel patients on conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures, adapting communication to age, psychosocial, and cultural needs.

Our Mishawaka Day Road Plaza Clinic team in Dermatology is looking to add a skilled and compassionate provider to join our collaborative team, helping to expand our high-quality care, and continue serving the needs of our patients with expertise and dedication.

Responsibilities

• As an APP at The South Bend Clinic, you will get the opportunity to:
• Perform comprehensive skin examinations, conduct and interpret diagnostic testing, develop care plans.
• Order diagnostic testing, skin biopsies, laboratory, x-ray, and/or other non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Initiate collaboration with supervising physicians, referrals to appropriate physicians or other health care professionals of problems that exceed the NPs scope of practice.
• Maintain communication with referring physicians while continuing to provide exceptional patient care.
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice, with collaborative physician oversight and necessary mid-level practitioner-controlled substance license
• Counsel patients on conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures, adjusting communication to the patient's age, psycho-social, and cultural needs to achieve optimal health outcomes in accordance with practice protocols
