The ideal candidate holds an MSN, NP certification, and licensure in Pennsylvania with DEA eligibility within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • MSN from the practicing State Board of Nursing Approved Master’s Program is required.
  • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through an accredited association required.
  • Prescriptive Authority within 60 days of hire; DEA licensure within 60 days; CPR training.
  • Board certification in PMHNP (preferred for Behavioral Health) within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care including history, physicals, care plans, diagnostics, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinate care with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team; involve physician as needed.
  • Issue prescriptions for drugs; administer meds and perform wound care.
  • Educate patients/families on health, meds, and preventive care; connect to community resources.
  • Triage calls and ensure continuity of care; participate in quality initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Job description

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides primary, or acute and/or behavioral healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

This position involves a rotation of shifts, including weekends and holidays. Thursdays 6p-6a. Friday 6p-6a, Saturdays 6p-6a and every other Wednesday 10p-6a.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides appropriate patient care to include recording patient medical history and physical assessment, developing therapeutic care plan, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, discharge planning and providing accurate medical record documentation. (35%)
  • Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, community health services and interdisciplinary team. Involves attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the CRNP's knowledge base or scope of practice. (15%)
  • Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances, administers medication and injections, sutures wounds and provides wound care. (10%)
  • Educates patients and family members regarding health and preventive medicine, medications prescribed, treatment instructions and recommends community resources as appropriate. (10%)
  • Triages patient telephone calls, provides monitoring and continuity of care. (10%)
  • Participates, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. (10%)
  • Serves as the clinical expert and acts as a clinical resource. (10%)
  • May perform other duties such as daily rounding of patients, manage outpatient concerns and any other duty specific to specialty.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum MSN from the practicing State Board of Nursing Approved Master’s Program National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through an accredited association Current State Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Preferred Post Master’s program, DNP ACLS certification For Behavioral Health areas: Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), obtained within 2 years of hire.
