Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care in a correctional setting in Ordway, Colorado. Expect a schedule with four 10-hour shifts (Tue-Fri) or five 8-hour shifts, with local pay of $145/hour on a 1099 basis.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, diagnosing and treating conditions, ordering tests, prescribing within scope, and documenting in EMR. Requires CO NP license and at least 1 year of recent NP experience.

Qualifications

• Current CO NP license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of NP experience in the last 3 years
• PSV verification from licensing board if required
• Current certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test)

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and results.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans within scope.
• Educate patients and families on prevention and care.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document encounters accurately in EMR and ensure compliance.

Shift Details

• Four 10-hour shifts per week 06.30am -04.30p,
• Tuesday-Friday.
• Five 8 hour shifts if preferred.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Promote preventive care and wellness through patient education and screenings.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, facility policies, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestrictedCO license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 yearof recent experience as aNurse Practitioner in the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,..)
