Job summary

PALM Health in Columbus, Georgia, is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our cardiovascular surgery team. The position offers the opportunity to support a leading cardiovascular surgeon in outpatient and inpatient settings, including potential First Assist duties in the Operating Room.

The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical judgment and communication skills, and have experience in cardiovascular surgery. Licensure in Georgia and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery is preferred.
• First Assist certification or willingness to obtain is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care through pre- and post-operative assessments in clinic and hospital settings.
• Participate in inpatient rounds and consultations in collaboration with the cardiovascular surgeon.
• Assist in surgical procedures as First Assist (if credentialed and trained).
• Coordinate patient care plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-operative care.

Position Details

• Deliver comprehensive care through pre- and post-operative assessments in clinic and hospital settings

Schedule

• Full-time position with flexibility for hospital coverage and potential OR time
• May include rotating weekends or on-call responsibilities
