Job Description

The Advanced Practice Nurse provides expert knowledge in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of needs of all Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) inpatients. The APN maintains a Collaborative Practice Agreement and functions within the scope of that agreement with the BMT Attendings.

Responsibilities include overseeing the appropriateness of patient care for oncology patients, providing education to nursing and ancillary staff through inservices and one-on-one sessions, teaching BMT procedures to patients and caregivers, obtaining informed consent, and serving as a consultant to nursing staff, medical staff, social work, pastoral care, and ICU regarding BMT patient management.

Qualifications
  • RN licensure in Missouri required
  • Master's Degree in Oncology Nursing (research component preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Oncology Nursing
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Certification (AOCN) from the Oncology Nursing Society
