Job summary

Alpharus Health is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) for our Carbondale facility. You will provide diagnostics, detox planning, and hands-on patient care, collaborating with a physician for ongoing treatment.

Expect leadership on-site and adherence to medical records standards. Requirements include a Master's in Nursing (or equivalent) with APRN/NP licensure and at least 5 years in healthcare, preferably with substance use experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, or post basic program certificate in a clinical nursing specialty, preferably with national certification.
• Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Five (5) years of experience in a health care setting, preferably including experience in the substance use field

Responsibilities

• Serves as a key team member to deliver all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations.
• Formulates initial client detoxification plan with diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions to stabilize client's medical condition.
• Provides guidance and counseling on health improvement, risk reduction, and disease prevention to nursing staff and clients.
• Acts as senior medical professional on site, and works in conjunction with consulting physician for continued client care.
• Evaluates client response to medication and treatment; initiates appropriate changes to client care plan.
• Monitors clients, evaluations of medical problems and potential barriers to detoxification and recovery.
• Documents and charts client examination and assessment data, medical needs, treatment plan, diagnostic and medical interventions, and referrals; maintains client records to ensure local state and federal compliance.
• Works closely with intake/admissions department to ensure referrals are medically appropriate prior to admission, and medically cleared at the time of admission.
