Job summary

Avel eCare, operating AveleCare's Behavioral Health team from Sioux Falls, SD, seeks a dedicated PMHNP. Qualifications

• Active PMHNP license required in CA or TX.
• APRN licensure required in states AveleCare serves within 9 months of hire.
• Federal DEA and/or State DEA licensure required within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with psychiatrist and staff on acute assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in ED, inpatient units, and crisis stabilization units.
• Assess patients for acute suicide and violence risk and determine appropriate level of care.
• Place direct admit orders for inpatient behavioral health requests.
• Assist with rounding/evaluation across environments supported by the service.
• Coordinate case discussions with accepting psychiatric facilities as needed.
• Contribute to Crisis Response Plans with patients and staff.

Summary

Avel eCare is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for our Behavioral Health team. This roleassumes the responsibility for the provisionof medicalmanagement of patients inAveleCareBehavioral Healthunder the direction and supervision of a physician.Nurse Practitioners practiceunder the rules and regulations of the Nurse Practice Act of the states in which the practitioner is providing services.

Responsibilities

• Workswith the psychiatrist and other staff (RN, support specialist, MSWs) on shift in the acute assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patient's presenting to emergency departments, medical inpatient units, and inpatient behavioral health/crisis stabilization units.
• Must be comfortable assessing patients for acute suicide and violence risktorecommend an appropriate level of care.This may require collaboration with family whenindicated.
• Is responsible forplacing direct admit orders for customers who request support for inpatient behavioral health/crisis stabilization units.
• Assistswith rounding/evaluation when requested for patients in all environments supported by the service.
• Discussespatient cases with accepting psychiatric facility if requested by customer site.
• Assistsin completing Crisis Response Plans with patientstosupport nursing staff.
• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures,goals,and standards. Effectively provides patient instruction related to environmental care and safety standards. Alwaysfollowsprocedures,policies,and standards as outlines by AveleCare. Effectively contributes to the development and attainment of nurse practitioner practice goals. Effectively ensures that QA is compiled, reports are prepared for administrative and regulatory agencies.
• Maximizes opportunities in the clinical setting for education of staff,patients,and families.
• Participate in the evaluation ofAveleCAREmetrics, including performance against clinical aims.
• Workscollaboratively with other health care professionals and agencies to provide, and whereappropriate, coordinates services to individuals,families,and groups and to promote quality care for patients.
• Demonstratesclinical, interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Works to enhance unit collaboration tightenworkflowsand assure ongoing commitment to achieving high quality clinical standards. Assistsclinical and administrative leaders in crafting remediation strategies when indicated.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing orequivalent.
• Graduate of an accreditedPsychiatric-Mental HealthNurse Practitioner(PMHNP)programis required.
• Master’sor Doctoratedegreerequired.

Certification, Licensure, and/or Registrations

• An active Nurse Practitioner California or Texas license required.
