Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for our Wenatchee, WA clinic. This full-time, on-site role supports adults and potentially adolescents, with limited travel to Yakima and Richland clinics for on-site visits.

Two positions are available: one focused on outpatient counseling and first-episode psychosis, the other on high-acuity PACT caseloads. Requires state ARNP/RN licensure, DEA, and MSN/DNP in Psychiatric Mental Health.

Qualifications

  • MSN or DNP with focus as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Active WA ARNP and RN licensure with DEA registration.
  • Experience with EHR documentation and credentialing processes.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management for enrolled clients.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications; educate on benefits/risks.

Position Summary

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric services to identified clients who are enrolled for mental health services. This is a fully on-site role in our Wenatchee, WA clinic with minimal travel up to two days per month to our Yakima and Richland clinics for on-site appointments. We currently have two positions available: Position 1: Caseload is primarily adults and some adolescents who are receiving outpatient counseling services or are part of the New Journeys first episode psychosis program. New graduates or experienced prescribers will be considered for this position. Position 2: Caseload is primarily adults, including those with serious and persistent mental illness who are receiving treatment with our PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment) team. This role requires at least 2 years of prescribing experience to individuals with high acuity mental illness; 5 years of prescribing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management services
    • Provide psychiatric services to enrolled individuals
    • Evaluate clients potentially in need of psychotropic medication
    • Prescribe, monitor, and evaluate results of medication prescribed to clients
    • Educate clients on benefits and risks of all medications prescribed
    • Order and evaluate laboratory tests as indicated for appropriate medical and psychiatric care
  • Provide consultation to facilitate client care
    • Consult with Catholic Charities clinical staff as needed
    • Coordinate and/or consult with outside physicians for psychiatric or medical management of a client under Catholic Charities care
    • Ensure accuracy of psychiatric diagnoses and assessments conducted by mental health staff
    • Provide expertise and clinical leadership in the development of treatment and discharge planning
    • Oversee quality and suitability of treatment and discharge planning for clients
    • Provide education and training to clinical staff regarding diagnoses, treatment planning, use and abuse of medications, health maintenance, and related clinical issues
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with agency policies and procedures
    • Follow front office and departmental procedures established for effective program management.
    • Follow agency infection control policies and procedures.
    • Provide services and maintain records to meet BHO requirements, level of care standards, and agency guideline
    • Maintain productivity (direct client contact) at 70%
    • Meet regularly with provider specific staff regarding systemic issues impacting patient care
    • Participate in team building and coordination to improve program operations and quality of service delivery
  • Document all clinical activities in conjunction with agency guidelines and procedures
    • Complete and submit progress notes and provider specific documentation using the agency’s EHR within required timelines
    • Maintain the security of CareLogic or other EHR system(s)
    • Ensure medication consents are documented and current
    • Provide legal documentation as required
  • Understand and comply with all relevant regulatory and safety standards and requirements
    • Complete training and licensing requirements in accordance with professional standards of the discipline
    • Submit licenses and insurance information within 10 days of renewal
    • Completes paperwork or online applications to assist with credentialing for third party payers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Physical Requirements
    • This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time. Position also requires ability to drive with adequate vision.
  • Education
    • MSN or DNP required with focus as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience
    • Prior experience as a psychiatric prescriber preferred but not required
    • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) for clinical documentation

    • Ability to provide service in a culturally competent manner
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member
    • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community

    • Current ARNP and RN licensure without any restrictions in the State of Washington
    • DEA registration
    • Valid Washington State driver’s license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
    • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider
  • Employment is conditional upon
    • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Work Schedule and Compensation

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Wage Range: $148,000 - $164,000 per year, depending on experience
Relocation: $5,000 one-time payment to assist with relocations to Wenatchee (from 50+ miles away)
