Call-in/contingent position, working a minimum of 16 hours per month.

Job Description Summary:

Provides healthcare to individuals or groups requiring knowledge and skills obtained from advanced formal education, certification, and clinical experience. Practices within the professional scope, promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the profession's Code of Ethics, and maintains a current Ohio Advanced License.

Essential Functions:
  1. Assesses patients and/or populations; develops, implements, and evaluates plans of care; clearly documents and communicates information both in written and verbal forms.
  2. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards as necessary for patient care.
  3. Utilizes evidence-based practice, serving as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills.
  4. Assists in the education, training, and development of new and existing staff members.
  5. Engages in the "community of the work unit" by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, and engaging in Quality Improvement.
  6. Leverages technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes.
  7. Commits to continued professional development of self and others.
  8. Contributes to division and/or specialty goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan.
Education Requirement:

Master of Science degree or equivalent provision, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Ohio, required.

Certifications:

Maintains national certification as an APRN in the appropriate population focus or as a PA, required.

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally: Bend/twist, handle bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, climb stairs/ladders, exposure to communicable diseases, driving, flex/ext neck, hand use, lifting/carrying (0-40 lbs), pushing/pulling (up to 100 lbs with assistance), reaching, squatting/kneeling.

Frequently: Repetitive hand/arm use, standing, walking.

Continuously: Speaking, color vision, computer skills, decision making, depth and peripheral vision, hearing, data interpretation, problem solving, seeing near/far, sitting.
