Safe Harbor Recovery Center in Portsmouth, Virginia is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver medical care under physician supervision. The role involves H&P exams, medication management, and participation in Master Treatment planning on-site, with some telehealth possible by mutual agreement with leadership.
Requirements include an MSN, an active NP license, CPR/de-escalation training, and relevant psychotropic prescribing experience in a primary care or behavioral health setting.
Purpose Statement: The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general medical care and treatment to clients, under the direction of physician. Performs history, physical examinations, and preventive health measures on assigned clients; provides consultation and liaison throughout the facility; performs daily rounds on clients as directed by supervising physician; prescribes medications; and provides clinical assessments and diagnosis. Works collaboratively with the medical/clinical staff under the guidelines of state licensure for Nurse Practitioners. This position is onsite at the facility but may include some telehealth work to be determined by mutual agreement with the CEO.
Master of Science of Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required. One or more years’ experience as an RN with the client population of the facility line of business required. Experience in prescribing basic psychotropic medications that would ordinarily be managed in a primary care setting. Clinical experience working with the client population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment, and client care required.
