Job summary

Precision Pain Management is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to provide primary care services. Requires a Master's in nursing, NP or PA program, and state RN license; must be approved to perform medical acts.

You will assess patients, diagnose, and develop care plans. Responsibilities include evaluating histories, conducting exams, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and monitoring treatment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, and diagnostic information to diagnose.
• See patients for assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe medications with attention to age, gender, and safety considerations.
• Schedule follow-ups to monitor health and adjust care plans as needed.
• Perform physical examinations and patient observations.
• Create and contribute to patient care plans.
• Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, drug regimens, and potential side effects.

Job description

Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program. Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program. Current approval by the jointed Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts. Experience providing primary case as a nurse practitioner. Must be currently licensed as registered nurse in the state. Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required for essential duties.

Analyze and interpret patients’ histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.

Sees patients in the health services office for laboratory testing, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries. Refers to physician as needed.

Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies, based on such patient characteristics as age and gender.

Schedules follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.

Performs physical examinations and patient observations.

Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.

Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary.

Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.

Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.

Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as children, pregnant and lactating women, or older adults.

Act as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of patients and staff.

Maintain complete and detailed records of patients’ health care plans and prognoses.

Read current literature, talk with colleagues, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in nursing.

Collaborates with staff to identify patients’ needs and to help develop plans to meet these needs.

Train patients and families on managing, including self-managing, illnesses or injuries and disease prevention. Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances, such as over-the-counter medications or food supplements.

Provide patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease or disability.
