Qualifications

  • Active NP license (or eligibility) in Vermont with national board certification in Family, Adult-Gerontology, or Primary Care.
  • Clinical skills in primary and preventive care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients of all ages.
  • Experience collaborating within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe care.
  • Comfort with electronic health records, documentation, and use of clinical guidelines.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, non-discriminatory care including health equity.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced primary care setting.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing; outpatient or family practice preferred.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Nurse Practitioner role is based in Williston, Rutland, Newport, or St. J, VT and focuses on providing comprehensive primary and preventive care to a diverse patient population. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. The Nurse Practitioner will manage chronic and acute conditions, provide health education and counseling, and collaborate with physicians and other care team members to coordinate care. The role also includes documenting encounters in the electronic health record, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and supporting practice protocols that promote safety, equity, and patient-centered outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner is expected to foster trusting relationships with patients and families, reflecting Blue Spruce Health’s commitment to personalized, community-oriented care.

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced primary care setting.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program; prior outpatient or family practice experience is preferred but not required.
