Overview
We are seeking an experienced Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to provide quality healthcare services across two correctional facilities. The NP will work 3 days during a Monday to Friday workweek up to 24 hours and play a key role in delivering compassionate, comprehensive patient care in collaboration with the onsite medical team.
What you will be doing
- Provide primary and preventive care to adult patients within the correctional system.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Manage an average caseload of 10–12 patients per day (subject to facility needs).
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate (preferred but not required).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation in accordance with facility and state guidelines.
What you must have
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a primary care setting.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to varying patient volumes and facility operations.
- Prior correctional or institutional healthcare experience a plus.
Location and Details
- Location: WSPF (3 days/week)
- Schedule: Up to 24 hours a week working 3 days during Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Duration: 26 weeks (up to 24 hours per week)
- Compensation: $90–95/hr
