Job summary

Matrix Providers Inc in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to conduct one-time, non-treatment VA disability exams for veterans.

This is a full-time, salaried position with bi-weekly pay; schedule typically Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, PTO, paid holidays and a 401(k).

On-site work requires an active NP license, BLS, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
• Must have a master’s degree or completed an approved NP program.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability.
• Basic computer skills.
• On-site staff and contractors must be vaccinated per CDC/state guidelines.
• VA exam experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical history documentation and perform one-time, non-treatment VA exams.
• Capture responses during exams via web-based forms; document electronically.
• Exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determinations.
• Standard exams include musculoskeletal, cardio, and respiratory; ancillaries may be ordered.

Matrix Providers is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team of talented medical professionals to conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Thousand Oaks, CA.

• Employment Status: Full Time
• Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
• Schedule: Anywhere from 3/4 to full-time availability. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Requirements and Skillsets: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) must have and meet the following qualifications:

• Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license for the duration of your employment.
• Have a master’s degree or successfully completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Certification: Have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• All on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC and state guidelines.
• Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus but not required.

Job Summary:

• Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide veterans with one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams.
• The Nurse Practitioner will capture responses during the exam through web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
• Standard exams include - musculoskeletal, cardio, and respiratory.
• Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and will be conducted on location or nearby.
