Job summary

SignatureCare Emergency Center in Odessa, TX is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) to join our busy ER team. The role involves direct patient care, histories, exams, and coordinating tests.

You will diagnose health issues, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians while maintaining HIPAA/compliance. A Texas NP license and 2+ years ER experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing is required.
• Current Texas NP license required.
• Minimum 2+ years ER experience required.
• HIPAA and OSHA knowledge required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with EHR and computer-based data management.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new patient consultation and health history review.
• Perform physical examinations and screenings of patients.
• Order and administer tests, including blood work.
• Review and interpret test results.
• Diagnose health problems.
• Detect changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications.
• Operate medical equipment.
• Recommend further treatment options or future appointments if needed.
• Provide referrals to other practitioners when necessary.
• Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families.
• Ensure patient records are kept up to date, including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
• Consult with other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Deliver quality, physician-level care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics.
• Able to perform laceration repairs, abscess drainage, splinting, and other noninvasive procedures.
