Job summary

WoundGen in Central IL is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner with an interest in wound care to join our clinical team. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support healing and overall wellness.

The role focuses on comprehensive wound assessments, debridement, and care planning, with documentation in the EMR within 24 hours. You’ll educate patients and caregivers, communicate with other providers, and help maintain efficient

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted NP license in applicable state(s).
  • Clinical experience in wound care or related field preferred but training available.
  • Strong skills in debridement and care planning.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical exams and wound assessments for patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Evaluate wound-related conditions and comorbidities to support healing.
  • Perform wound debridement and dressing changes per best practices.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans with Medical Director and team.
  • Accurately document patient encounters, procedures, and communications in the EMR within 24 hours.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, prevention, and chronic condition management.
  • Communicate effectively with primary care providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and leadership to maintain efficient workflows.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Advocate for patients by ensuring access to appropriate care and follow-up services.
  • Maintain compliance with clinical, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Stay current with CMS guidelines, documentation requirements, and best practices.
  • Maintain licensure and pursue ongoing education in wound care and related specialties.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
