This position will cover Hardeman County.
Overview
This position provides primary care clinical services to uninsured adults, with focus on wellness/preventive and contraceptive care, clinical screening and treatment of communicable diseases (including sexually transmitted diseases and Hepatitis C), and immunization promotion according to ACIP recommendations. Responsibilities follow health department guidelines, protocols, and program recommendations, and professional development directives from the TN Board of Nursing. Participation in county and regional activities is requested by county and regional supervisors.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Deliver primary care clinical services to uninsured adults.
- Deliver wellness/preventive and contraceptive care to eligible patients.
- Deliver clinical screening and treatment of communicable diseases, including sexually transmitted diseases and Hepatitis C.
- Promote disease prevention via patient education and ACIP recommended immunizations.
- Follow health department guidelines, protocols, and program recommendations.
- Follow professional development directives from the TN Board of Nursing.
- Participate in county and regional based activities as requested by county and regional supervisors.
Education Requirements And Qualifications
- Master of Science or Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner specialty focus.
- Hold and maintain valid, unrestricted State of Tennessee Advanced Practice Registered Nursing and Registered Nursing licenses.
- Hold and maintain valid certification as Family Nurse Practitioner from national credentialing organization such as ANCC or AANP.
- Primary care experience preferred.
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license. Must have available transportation as the position may involve occasional travel to alternate health department locations.
