Role Description

The Nurse Practitioner will deliver high-quality, client-centered psychiatric and medical care within an outpatient counseling setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, diagnosing and managing mental health conditions, prescribing and monitoring medications as appropriate, and collaborating closely with therapists and other clinicians to coordinate care plans. The role involves providing psychoeducation to clients and families, documenting encounters in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards, and participating in case consultations to support integrated, trauma-informed treatment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Louisville, KY, with consistent in-person interaction with clients and the clinical team. Being able to prescribe for the whol life span is required as we see clients from the ages of five to 99.

Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or related specialty preferred) and eligibility to practice in Kentucky.
  • Demonstrated skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning within outpatient or community mental health settings.
  • Experience with medication management, monitoring treatment effectiveness, and ensuring safe prescribing practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging clients and families in care.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and ethically grounded practice, aligned with principles of equity and justice.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and manage a full-time caseload in an on-site environment.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program; national certification as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Experience in counseling or behavioral health settings, and familiarity with integrated care models, is highly beneficial.
