Job summary

Nursing On Demand is seeking a per diem nurse in Needham, MA. Shifts include 3p-11p with other options 7a-3p or 3p-11p. You may work in assisted living facilities or patients’ homes, providing med passes, assessments, education, and caregiver support.

The role requires MA RN or LPN license, a valid MA driver's license, and strong organizational skills. Prior EMR experience is preferred and a background check is required.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN or LPN license in good standing.
• Current Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• 1+ year nursing experience preferred.
• Fluent English; bilingual is a plus.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Nurse - Per Diem (LPN / RN) job at Nursing On Demand. Needham, MA.

Shifts can vary in duration.
Immediate Need: 3p - 11 p (in Lincoln and/or Needham)
Other needs are when need can be: 7a-3p or 3p-11p

Position Summary:

As a per diem nurse, you may work in Assisted Living facilities or homes where you can provide a wide range of care, such as med passes, head-to-toe assessments, staff oversight, communication with family members, and other similar situations; training will be provided. You may also provide care in our patients’ homes; this range of care will vary depending on the patients' needs.

The nurse will work with patients and their family members. They will provide patient education, treatment, and emotional support to help these individuals recover from injuries, illnesses, or other healthcare concerns. Our nurses will provide care to our most cherished individuals in our community (primarily adults and the elderly).

This is an opportunity for a conscientious, self-motivated nurse with excellent organizational skills to join us where you will provide hands-on care to our patients..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - EXAMPLE:

• Med pass/administration.
• Light wound care (generally related to skin breakdown).
• Arrange for or directly implement care plan interventions and testing, treatment, or other provider orders.
• Safely and effectively administers medications, tests and treatments as ordered of all patient medications with appropriate authorizations by the provider.
• Teaches patients and families health care regimens. Explains and provides information regarding disease and wellness, tests, results, medications, diet, exercise, and other aspects of the plan of care to patients.
• Use sound clinical judgment to accurately assess patient problems during visits and responds both with nursing interventions and by bringing concerns to the attention of the patient’s primary care team as appropriate.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with patients and caregivers.
• Maintain real-time documentation/reports during each visit, this should included thorough medical information.
• Provide care and compassion for our elders that have ailments – not limited to Dementia/ Alzheimer’s in our community and support the caregiver to prevent burnout.
• Documentation of nursing visits.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

• Current Massachusetts RN or LPN license in good standing.
• Current Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• 1+ of year of nursing experience preferred, but not required. VNA experience a plus.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with documenting in electronic medical record strongly preferred.
• Must be a fluent communicator (English); bilingual is a plus. Excellent clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, nursing skills, physiological knowledge, administering medications, medical teamwork, multi-tasking, listening, verbal communication, health promotion and maintenance.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must feel comfortable seeing our clients in their homes.
